Rookie boy group TWS has officially proven their rising popularity in Japan.

Success Abroad

On October 31, the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) announced its latest streaming certifications and TWS’s debut track “First Meeting Never Goes As Planned” has been certified Gold, marking over 50 million streams on Japanese platforms.

Under RIAJ standards, songs surpassing 50 million cumulative streams earn Gold certification, with Platinum reserved for tracks reaching 100 million. The milestone highlights the group’s growing influence beyond Korea’s borders, just over a year after their debut.

From Debut Hit to Global Momentum

Originally released in January 2024, “First Meeting Never Goes As Planned” became a breakthrough hit for TWS. The song’s refreshing energy and youthful sincerity struck a chord with listeners, earning the group widespread recognition and the nickname “the next-generation K-pop storytellers.”

Building on that success, TWS officially debuted in Japan this past July with their single “Nice to See You Again” (はじめまして), which has now surpassed 250,000 copies in cumulative sales.

The group also launched their first local tour, “2025 TWS Tour 24/7: WITH:US in Japan,” performing in six cities and drawing approximately 50,000 fans.

Taking Over the Stage

Beyond their solo concerts, TWS has been actively participating in major Japanese festivals. They recently performed at Rock in Japan Festival 2025, showcasing their live energy to thousands of new fans. Their next stage will be Countdown Japan 25/26, scheduled for December 27, where anticipation is already high.

Continuing the Momentum

TWS’s upward trajectory continues with the release of their 4th mini album, “Play Hard,” which dropped earlier this month. The group is currently promoting the new record both in Korea and abroad, solidifying their identity as one of K-pop’s most promising global acts.

With their latest mini album “Play Hard” earning strong reviews for its energetic concept and fresh storytelling, TWS is proving that their rise is no coincidence it’s the result of pure passion, persistence, and powerful connection with fans.
