Actor and singer Lee Junho has built one of the most consistent success streaks in recent Korean drama history. But according to the star himself, success does not make things easier. In fact, he says the pressure to deliver a hit never goes away.
During an interview with Sports Kyunghyang following the finale of the tvN drama “Typhoon Family”, Junho spoke openly about the expectations that come with leading popular projects and why he believes actors must carry a sense of responsibility.
The Role That Closed 2025 on a High Note
In “Typhoon Family,” Junho played Kang Taepung, an inexperienced businessman who suddenly becomes the head of a struggling trading company during the 1997 IMF financial crisis.
The character is forced to navigate a difficult situation with no employees, no money, and almost nothing left to sell, creating a story centered on perseverance and leadership during one of Korea’s most challenging economic periods.
The drama ended with strong momentum, recording a final episode rating of 10.3 percent, the highest of its run.

A Third Consecutive Hit
“Typhoon Family” added another success to Junho’s already impressive drama lineup.
Before that, he starred in “The Red Sleeve” (2021) and “King the Land” (2023), both of which became major hits and significantly boosted his popularity as an actor.
With three successful projects in a row, many viewers began to see Junho as a reliable leading actor capable of carrying a drama to strong ratings.

“The Pressure Is Always There”
Despite the positive results, Junho admitted that he never feels completely relaxed when a new project is released.
He explained that the responsibility of leading a drama is something actors should take seriously.
According to him, a production involves a large number of people working together, from writers and directors to crew members and fellow actors. Because of that, he believes feeling pressure is natural.
Junho shared that the burden of success helps him stay focused.
If actors lose that sense of responsibility, he said, it can become easier to lose discipline. Maintaining good condition and delivering strong performances, in his view, is part of respecting the work of everyone involved.

Cashero’s Success
During the interview, Junho also spoke about his series “Cashero,” which was also released on Netflix.
He jokingly remarked that because it is a streaming project, he might not have to worry about television ratings in the same way.
However, the actor’s comments still reflect a mindset he has consistently maintained throughout his career: even when a project becomes successful, the responsibility to perform well never truly disappears.
A Reputation That Still Holds in 2026
Now in 2026, Junho continues to be seen as one of the actors fans trust to deliver strong performances and commercially successful dramas.
His comments from late 2025 still resonate today because they reveal something many viewers do not always see behind the scenes: even actors with a long list of hits still carry the pressure to live up to expectations with every new project.
