&TEAM has returned stronger, sharper, and more determined than ever. The group unveiled their new mini album “Back to Life” on October 28, marking their long-awaited Korean debut three years after first launching in Japan.
Korean Debut
At their Seoul media showcase, the members reflected on their journey and the significance of finally debuting in their home base under HYBE Labels Japan. “We’re deeply moved to be debuting in Korea,” the group shared. “It feels like reliving that first excitement all over again. This album carries our passion and our promise to begin a new chapter as &TEAM.”
A Long-Awaited Return
&TEAM first debuted in Japan in 2022 under HYBE Labels Japan, quickly earning acclaim for their precision, performance, and “wolf-DNA” charisma. Their third single ‘Go in Blind’ sold over 1 million copies, earning a RIAJ Million Certification and a spot among the Best 5 Albums at the Japan Golden Disc Awards.
Now, they’re taking their next leap onto the K-pop main stage. “We’re so moved to debut in Korea,” the group shared during their Seoul showcase. “It feels like starting over, but with everything we’ve learned. Please watch us rise again as a new &TEAM.”
The Message of ‘Back to Life’
The mini album symbolizes rebirth — a story of resilience, growth, and rediscovery. Its title track, ‘Back to Life,’ is a rock-hip-hop anthem built on heavy beats and cinematic energy. The lyrics, “Trust your revived instincts, and run where your heart leads,” reflect the group’s determination to move forward without fear.
Member EJ explained, “Even when you fall, you can always rise again. That’s the message behind this album our belief in perseverance.”
The album also includes six tracks, such as ‘MISMATCH,’ ‘Rush,’ ‘Heartbreak Time Machine,’ and ‘Who Am I.’ Each track explores a different mood from 90s R&B to rock ballad showcasing the group’s diverse sound and refined storytelling.
A Performance with Emotion
On stage, &TEAM channeled raw emotion into their choreography, treating each performance like a short film. “We wanted it to feel dramatic every move carrying meaning,” said Fuma. The result is a dynamic performance that blends power, control, and heart. Their debut also highlights the group’s commitment to growth. The mostly Japanese lineup focused heavily on Korean language training for this release. “Recording entirely in Korean was a challenge,” shared Harua, “but we wanted to connect directly with Korean fans through our words.”
Global Collaboration and Ambition
‘Back to Life’ features contributions from global producers including Bang Si Hyuk, Soma Genda, Julia Lewis, Tyler Spry, and Park Moon Chi, further expanding &TEAM’s sound. “This is a major starting point for us,” said Maki. “We hope to show our own color and identity through this album not just in Korea, but worldwide.” For &TEAM, this debut isn’t an endpoint it’s a promise. Their next goal? A Korean music show win and, eventually, a world tour. “We want to make our fans proud,” they said. “This is our first step toward something bigger our journey to rise again.”
