Singer and actor Kim Jae-joong melted viewers’ hearts on KBS 2TV’s variety show Stars’ Top Recipe at Fun-Staurant by giving his mother a one-of-a-kind gift that brought her to tears — and left him blushing after a surprise “kiss moment” between his parents.
A Son’s Touching Surprise
In the October 31 episode, Kim Jae-joong — often called the “Nation’s Filial Son” — prepared a very special present: a hand-made poetry book filled with his mother’s own poems, bound into a single copy titled “Yoo Man-soon’s Poetry Collection.”
The VCR began with Kim’s father walking toward his wife holding flowers and the mysterious book. “Honey, I prepared this for you,” he said, handing it over. When she opened it, she gasped, asking, “Are these… my poems?” realizing that her son had secretly compiled her writings into a published keepsake.
Overwhelmed, his mother said tearfully, “This makes me cry.” Watching her reaction, Jae-joong smiled proudly and said, “Seeing her so happy makes me emotional too.”
A Sweet (and Funny) Family Moment
