Kim Yoo-jung and Kim Do-hoon have officially cleared the air — the dating rumors that made headlines earlier this year were nothing more than a misunderstanding.
At the press conference for TVING’s new original series Dear X held on October 30 at CGV Yongsan, the two actors appeared alongside director Lee Eung-bok, Kim Young-dae, and Lee Yeol-eum, greeting reporters with smiles and laughter.

“It was just an MT trip!”
The buzz started when the pair were spotted together in Vietnam’s Nha Trang over the summer, sparking rumors of a secret getaway. But as it turns out, the trip was a team MT (staff retreat) that included the director and crew.
Director Lee Eung-bok playfully defused the rumor, saying,
“I actually have about 100 photos of them from that trip — I could release more if needed.”
Kim Yoo-jung laughed as she recalled,
“Right after the reports came out, I called Do-hoon and we just laughed for three minutes straight. It was funny because we had just wrapped our Busan International Film Festival schedule and were all going home.”
She added warmly,
“We took it as a sign of interest — and we just hoped it meant people were excited for our drama.”
Co-stars React with Humor
Kim Young-dae chimed in, “I didn’t even know about the trip. I wasn’t there, so I actually called to ask if it was true!”
Lee Yeol-eum, who also missed the trip, added with a grin, “We had a group chat planning the MT, so I knew what it was. When the news broke, we all just laughed.”

Kim Yoo-jung’s Bold New Role
Beyond the lighthearted rumor, Dear X is making waves for Kim Yoo-jung’s stunning transformation. She plays Baek Ah-jin, a beautiful but ruthless top actress who hides her true face behind a mask of perfection. “It’s a challenging character that any actor would want to play,” she said.
Directed by Lee Eung-bok, known for Goblin, Mr. Sunshine, and Sweet Home, and based on Ban Ji-woon’s hit webtoon, the 12-episode thriller premieres on November 6 at 6 p.m. KST with the first four episodes dropping on TVING.
