Why U-Know Yunho’s First Full Album ‘I-KNOW’ Feels Like His Most Personal Project Yet

After 22 years in the industry, U-Know Yunho has finally unveiled his first-ever full-length solo album, I-KNOW. The record explores the delicate boundary between U-Know Yunho the artist and Jung Yunho the person, capturing both brilliance and vulnerability.

A Documentary of Duality: Artist vs. Human

On November 5, Yunho held a press conference at the Sofitel Ambassador Hotel in Seoul’s Songpa District to mark the album’s release. Laughing, he said, “Many people asked, ‘Is this finally the fourth lesson?’ Yes—it’s the start of a new chapter.”

The concept of I-KNOW is framed as “Fake & Documentary.” The “Fake” tracks represent the dazzling, larger-than-life performer that the world sees, while the “Documentary” tracks reveal Yunho’s sincere inner thoughts. “It’s fun to ask yourself, ‘Is this song fake or real?’ as you listen,” he shared. The album includes 10 tracks, including double title songs “Body Language” and “Stretch.” The lineup also features “Set in Stone,” “Spotlight 2,” “Waterfalls,” “Leader,” “Premium,” “Fever,” “Let You Go,” and “Take Off.”

From Stage Brilliance to Inner Reflection

“Body Language” is a dance track infused with funk, blues, and retro hip-hop, illustrating the intensity of the stage. “Stretch” presents the other side a synth-pop sound layered with emotional vocals that depict the solitude behind the spotlight.

Even the music videos intertwine. The “Body Language” video ends with Yunho digging into the ground—a scene that continues in “Stretch,” symbolizing rebirth through self-exploration. Yunho revealed that “Stretch” was inspired by his early TVXQ! a cappella days. “I used to handle the bass parts. This time, I wanted to highlight that grounding energy again.”

Featuring Kai and a Message of Legacy

The track “Waterfalls” features EXO’s Kai, blending early 2000s R&B nostalgia with smooth harmonies. “Kai has incredible ambition,” Yunho said. “I gave him a difficult part to test his tone and falsetto, and he nailed it.”

The outro “Take Off” draws from the New Jack Swing genre and is based on the number “26,” a symbolic reference to Yunho’s birthday (February 6), TVXQ’s debut day (December 26), and his time in the 26th Division during military service.

U-Know’s Enduring Curiosity and Gratitude

Yunho has spent 2025 balancing his music and acting careers. His role in Disney+’s “Fine” solidified his presence as an actor, while the viral “Thank U” challenge reminded audiences of his trademark positivity.

In October, he received the Presidential Award at the 2025 Korea Popular Culture and Arts Awards. “It felt like recognition for the time TVXQ has built together,” he shared gratefully. When asked about his motivation over two decades, Yunho replied, “It’s curiosity. I always ask myself, ‘Should I stop here, or go further?’ That’s what keeps me moving.” He concluded by thanking fans: “Their support gives me confidence that I can keep going. Every step of this journey has been possible because of them.”

U-Know Yunho’s I-KNOW is available on all streaming platforms.

Editor’s Insight

I-KNOW is less about proving anything and more about understanding everything.

Instead of reinforcing his image as a perfect performer, Yunho allows space for imperfection, doubt, and growth.

And that shift may be exactly why this project feels more powerful than anything he has done before.
