BLACKPINK’s Rosé and Netflix’s hit animated film K-pop Demon Hunters have made history as the first-ever K-pop nominees in the General Fields the main categories of the Grammy Awards, including Song of the Year, Record of the Year, Album of the Year, and Best New Artist.

Rosé’s solo hit “Apartment” received nominations for Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. It’s a groundbreaking moment for a Korean soloist a recognition that positions Rosé among the world’s top pop artists.
Meanwhile, “Golden”, the original soundtrack from K-pop Demon Hunters, was nominated in five categories, including Song of the Year, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, and Best Song Written for Visual Media.

American media outlets hailed the nominations as a turning point. Forbes wrote, “K-pop was historically overlooked by the Grammys despite its global dominance. The nominations of ‘Apartment’ and ‘Golden’ aren’t surprising they’re long overdue.”
The L.A. Times noted that the Grammys are finally “recognizing K-pop for its artistic value, not just its fandom power,” signaling the genre’s integration into mainstream pop culture.

Record-Breaking Global Impact
Rosé’s “Apartment” has already rewritten history: 12 consecutive weeks at No.1 on the Billboard Global 200, 19 weeks atop the Global Excl. U.S. chart, and a peak at No.3 on the Billboard Hot 100 the highest ever for a Korean female solo artist.
K-pop Demon Hunters’ anthem “Golden” also dominated, topping both the U.K. Official Chart and Billboard Hot 100 for eight weeks.
The 68th Annual Grammy Awards will be held on February 1, 2026, in Los Angeles. Alongside Rosé and K-pop Demon Hunters, rising K-pop group KATSEYE also earned nominations for Best New Artist and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance marking a new era for Korean pop on the world’s biggest stage.
