Disney+ has officially confirmed that its new Korean original series “Made in Korea” will premiere on December 24, delivering a powerful year-end blockbuster led by Hyun Bin and Jung Woo-sung.
A Gritty 1970s Power Struggle Brought to Life
Set in 1970s South Korea, Made in Korea follows the ruthless rise of Baek Ki-tae (Hyun Bin), a man who views the entire nation as his business model and pursues wealth and political influence at any cost. Opposing him is prosecutor Jang Gun-young (Jung Woo-sung), who devotes everything to tracking Baek’s corruption.
The drama marks the first-ever OTT series by director Woo Min-ho, known for acclaimed political thrillers like Inside Men, The Man Standing Next, and Harbin. Disney+ describes the series as having “tight storytelling and overwhelming visual style,” promising a cinematic experience where each episode feels like a standalone film.

A Stacked Cast Featuring Top Talent
In addition to the Hyun Bin × Jung Woo-sung matchup, the cast includes:
- Woo Do-hwan as Baek Ki-tae’s brother, Baek Ki-hyun
- Jo Yeo-jeong, Seo Eun-soo, Won Ji-an
- Jung Sung-il, Kang Gil-woo, Noh Jae-won
- Lily Franky, Park Yong-woo
Their performances are expected to bring intensity and emotional depth to the show’s intricate power dynamics.

Teaser Raises Expectations
The newly released teaser titled “Businessman” shows Hyun Bin delivering a chilling line in Japanese — “I’m just a businessman” — right before a fierce airplane fight sequence. Jung Woo-sung’s sharp, determined expressions heighten the tension, signaling a gripping chase between two men with everything at stake.
