A star-studded youth romance is coming. Multiple industry insiders have confirmed that Jang Gyu-ri, Song Kang, and Lee Jun-young are coming together in the upcoming drama Four Hands a coming-of-age story set in an arts high school, centered around friendship, rivalry, and love expressed through music.

The drama borrows its title from the piano term “four hands,” a duet technique where two players perform together on one piano. Reflecting that symbolism, the story follows three young musicians whose lives become intimately intertwined from adolescence to adulthood.

Jang Gyu-ri Cast as the Female Lead, Jae-in

Former fromis_9 member and rising actress Jang Gyu-ri will take on the role of Jae-in a bright, ambitious arts-high student whose life and talent develop alongside two exceptional pianists. After years of supporting roles (Cheer Up, Call My Agent! Korea), Four Hands marks her biggest lead role yet.

She will portray Jae-in from her school days to adulthood, showcasing her emotional growth and her evolving relationships with the two male leads.

Song Kang’s Post-Military Comeback as a Genius Pianist

Four Hands is already drawing heavy attention as Song Kang’s first project after completing military service. Known as “Netflix’s son” for hits like Sweet Home, Nevertheless, My Demon, and Love Alarm, the actor is set to play a gifted pianist whose calm exterior hides a fiercely competitive spirit.

This will be his first youth-music romance, adding excitement for longtime fans eager to see a new side of him.

Lee Jun-young Confirmed as a Piano Prodigy Rival

According to a previous exclusive from SpoTV News, Lee Jun-young has also been cast as a main character a genius pianist who becomes both Song Kang’s closest friend and his biggest rival.

Their relationship evolves from innocent school-age partnership to an intense, emotionally complex bond in adulthood. If the chemistry between Song Kang and Lee Jun-young lands as expected, Four Hands may deliver one of the strongest male-lead pairings in upcoming K-dramas.

Lee Jun-young, who has been steadily rising through roles in Let Me Be Your Knight, May I Help You, Brave Citizen, and The Worst of Evil, is expected to shine through both acting and musical performance scenes.

A Youth Romance Wrapped in Classical Music

Taking place across both high school and adult years, Four Hands will blend:

  • Music-driven storytelling
  • Youth romance filled with tension and longing
  • A deep bromance and rivalry between two prodigies
  • A coming-of-age arc that spans over a decade

The drama aims to capture the pressures faced by young artists — auditions, competitions, talent gaps, jealousy — alongside moments of warmth, nostalgia, and first love.

Production Status

  • Four Hands is currently in active casting and pre-production.
  • It is widely known as Song Kang’s military comeback drama, increasing global anticipation.
  • Jang Gyu-ri and Lee Jun-young’s casting strengthens expectations for strong chemistry and emotional depth.
  • The drama is expected to air on a major OTT platform, with details to be announced soon.

Editor’s Notes

What makes this subject especially promising is that Four Hands looks built around a very marketable three-way tension: prestige youth setting, emotional rivalry, and comeback value. On its own, an arts-high-school music drama already carries a built-in sense of pressure, longing, and coming-of-age intensity, but the confirmed casting of Song Kang, Lee Jun-young, and Jang Gyuri gives it a sharper hook because each brings a different kind of audience attention — Song Kang’s post-military return, Lee Jun-young’s proven ability to play emotionally charged rivals, and Jang Gyuri’s chance to step into a bigger lead role.
