Rain Reveals He Was Diagnosed With High Cholesterol — “My Doctor Told Me to Exercise More… How?”

Singer and actor Rain (비) surprised viewers with an unexpected health confession on his YouTube show “Season B Season.”
In the latest episode, posted on November 20, Rain visited an omakase restaurant with popular mukbang creator Tzuyang, where the two exchanged playful compliments — until the conversation turned to health checkups.

While Tzuyang confidently said she was in perfect health, Rain admitted, “I was told I have high cholesterol.”
The revelation shocked both the guest and the production crew, as Rain is widely known for his intense self-discipline, strict diet, and rigorous training routine.

“My doctor told me to work out more… but how?”

Rain explained that despite already exercising heavily, his doctor suggested even more cardio.

“They told me to exercise,” Rain said.
“So I told the doctor, ‘How am I supposed to do more than this?’”

Even Tzuyang responded with disbelief, commenting that Rain is one of the most dedicated exercisers she knows.

What Is High Cholesterol?

High cholesterol occurs when fat levels in the blood increase beyond healthy ranges.
It is considered one of Korea’s three major chronic conditions, alongside diabetes and hypertension.

Risk factors include:

  • Genetics
  • Age
  • Diets high in saturated fats and cholesterol
  • Lack of exercise
  • Family history of related diseases

Untreated high cholesterol can lead to heart disease, stroke, dementia, liver issues, and kidney failure.

Rain Has Long Been Open About His Strict Self-Care

Rain has previously shared that his intense workouts and constant discipline come from a place of responsibility.

In past interviews, he revealed:

“I felt pressure because I thought I didn’t have much.
I wanted to be someone irreplaceable — even if it meant my body had to be perfect.”

He also mentioned a family history of diabetes on his mother’s side, saying he works hard to stay healthy for the sake of his wife and daughters.

A Family Man Focused on Wellness

Rain married actress Kim Tae-hee in 2017, and the couple has two daughters.
His latest health update is sparking conversations online about the invisible stress and lifestyle pressures placed on Korean entertainers — even those known for being extraordinarily fit.

Editor’s Insights: Rain’s Health Realities

Rain’s diagnosis of hyperlipidemia (high cholesterol) in late 2025 sent a shockwave through the fitness community. It serves as a crucial editorial reminder that “abs do not equal internal health.” * The Takeaway: For our 2026 health-conscious readers, this story is a perfect case study on the role of genetics and age. Despite his rigorous routine, Rain’s struggle highlights that even top-tier athletes can’t “out-train” a genetic predisposition or the metabolic shifts that occur in one’s 40s.
