Actor Lee Yi-kyung’s Blackmailer to Be Identified Soon — Court Issues Search Warrant for Accounts

Actor Lee Yi-kyung is close to seeing the truth revealed, as the identity of the individual who blackmailed and spread rumors about him is expected to be uncovered soon.

On November 24, Dispatch reported that a court issued a search and seizure warrant on November 21 for the online accounts used by the perpetrator, referred to as A.

According to the report, police will now obtain IP logs and activity records from A’s Naver blog account and X (formerly Twitter) account.
Naver is known to actively cooperate with criminal investigations involving threats or defamation, and X has also been providing user information upon receiving a court-approved warrant.

Since A used both platforms to circulate claims about Lee Yi-kyung, authorities believe identifying the suspect will not be difficult.

How the Rumor Started

On October 19, A posted an article titled
“Revealing Lee Yi-kyung’s True Behavior”,
uploading what appeared to be a screenshot of a messaging conversation allegedly involving the actor.

The captured conversation contained explicit messages, but Lee Yi-kyung’s agency immediately denied the allegations and declared the post a fabrication and a criminal act.

A’s Claims Keep Changing

After the agency announced legal action, A suddenly reversed course, claiming:
“It started as a joke.”

However, A later changed the statement again, saying:
“I said it was fake because I got scared. All the evidence I posted is real.”

The repeated flip-flopping fueled the spread of the false rumor, causing serious damage to the actor and his management.

Lee Yi-kyung Files Complaint

On November 19, the actor’s agency confirmed it filed charges against A for blackmail and defamation under the Information and Communications Network Act, stating:

“The malicious actions of the individual who created and spread the posts caused severe damage to the actor and the agency. We will pursue strict legal action without leniency.”

On November 21, Lee Yi-kyung personally released a statement, saying:
“I have completed legal procedures for charges regarding blackmail and false allegations. I was furious every moment.”

Investigation Expected to Move Quickly

With a search warrant issued and account data being collected, police are expected to identify A in the near future.
The investigation is now gaining speed, raising anticipation for its conclusion.
