Actors Joo Ji-hoon and Ha Ji-won are teaming up as a married couple in the upcoming Genie TV original series Climax, a fierce power-struggle drama set in the world of Korean elites.
The series follows Bang Tae-seop (played by Joo Ji-hoon), a prosecutor who enters a dangerous web of political and business alliances in his ruthless rise to the top. After marrying Choo Sang-ah (Ha Ji-won), Korea’s top actress, he becomes a celebrated “star prosecutor.” But while their marriage boosts his public image, Sang-ah begins facing harsh treatment in the industry, now labeled as a “washed-up” actress after their union.

The drama features a strong supporting lineup.
- Nana, former member of After School, plays Hwang Jung-won, Tae-seop’s informant who holds the key to a Pandora’s box of corruption inside the power cartel.
- Cha Joo-young appears as Lee Yang-mi, the second wife of the chairman of WR Group, ranked third among Korean conglomerates. As a powerful figure who disrupts Tae-seop and Sang-ah’s marriage, she brings intense tension to the story.
- Oh Jung-se plays Kwon Jong-wook, the eldest son of WR Group who competes with Yang-mi while seeking to secure his position as heir.
Climax marks the first drama project by director Lee Ji-won, known for the critically acclaimed films Miss Baek (2018) and Bikwang (2021).
The series is set to release next year on Genie TV, and will air as an ENA Monday–Tuesday drama.
