Galaxy Corporation home to global icons like G-Dragon, Kim Jong-kook, and Song Kang-ho is officially opening the doors to its ambitious next chapter: discovering and training the world’s first-generation AI-driven global virtual idols. The company announced on the 27th that it will hold the 2025 Global Virtual Artist Audition in Seoul on December 17 at The Forum, IFC Seoul, Yeouido.
A New Era of Auditions Begins
Unlike traditional auditions where visual impressions can influence evaluations, this groundbreaking event will be fully virtual. Participants will appear through digital avatars, and only pure skill vocals, rap, dance, creativity, and stage presence will be judged.
According to Galaxy Corporation, the goal is to find talents who can evolve into AI-powered virtual idols, blending human artistry with cutting-edge technology. The company emphasized that this format eliminates prejudice and highlights raw ability, marking a major shift in how global talent can be discovered.
From Training to Debut: Building an AI Idol
Final audition winners will debut as members of a next-generation AI idol project. Their training will break the boundaries of traditional K-pop systems, combining entertainment fundamentals with high-level technology: Motion capture performance training, Digital stage manners & virtual stage acting, Immersive media communication techniques, AI-enhanced identity building and storytelling
Every aspect from music production to performance to fan engagement will integrate AI technologies, signaling a future where entertainment extends beyond physical limitations.
Following LA and Osaka: Seoul Hosts the Third Global Audition
This Seoul stop marks the third international audition location. Galaxy Corporation previously held the same event in Los Angeles in September, where Forbes highlighted the audition as “a breakthrough moment drawing explosive attention from K-pop fans.”
A follow-up audition in Osaka also generated strong local turnout. With global anticipation rising, the Seoul audition is expected to draw contestants from diverse backgrounds seeking to enter the virtual entertainment frontier. Participant registration opens tomorrow and runs until December 12. Only applicants who pass the first round will move on to on-site final evaluations.
