Actress Han Hye-jin shared heartfelt and humorous stories about her family life, her daughter, and her marriage to football star Ki Sung-yueng during the November 26 episode of KBS2’s variety show “Delivery Has Arrived” (배달왔수다).

Life in the U.K. With Ki Sung-yueng: “I Thought We Were Moving to London…”

Han Hye-jin recalled moving to the U.K. during Ki Sung-yueng’s Premier League career, admitting she had no idea they weren’t going to London.

“I didn’t know anything. He said we were moving to the U.K., so I thought it meant London,” she laughed. “But it was a small seaside town. There was nothing but the ocean.”

With no Korean mart nearby and very little cooking experience, she struggled at first.
“I tried making tteokbokki for him after training, and he looked shocked,” she said with a smile.

Studying Abroad While Supporting Her Husband

To overcome the language barrier and loneliness, she enrolled in a language academy for six months.

“There were no Koreans — only Arab classmates,” she said. “When I told them people said I looked Arab, they reacted like, ‘You?’”

She explained that while Ki Sung-yueng focused intensely on training, she focused on self-development.

A Quiet Marriage With Mutual Support

When asked whether she felt pressure being married to a top athlete, Han Hye-jin said:

“He never expects anything from me. So we rarely fight.”

Ki Sung-yueng is also known as a supportive husband.
“He sends food trucks when I film dramas. He came to my plays five times — eventually I told him to stop coming,” she joked. “He always watches my dramas… except one, because he was afraid the ratings might go up if he watched!”

Her 11-Year-Old Daughter: “She Used to Look Like Her Dad, But Now…”

Han Hye-jin shared that her daughter, now 11, is gradually starting to resemble her.

“She used to look exactly like her dad, but now she’s beginning to look a bit like me,” she said.

Still, the child is proudest of her father:
“She brags about him because her friends are into football. She said, ‘Mom’s autograph is okay,’ until recently.”

Thanks to Han Hye-jin’s new role on an educational variety program, her daughter’s friends have started recognizing her too.
“She told me her friends asked for my autograph. So I guess I need to do more variety shows,” she laughed.
