Lee Byung-hun Nominated at U.S. Astra Film Awards — Competing Against DiCaprio & Timothée Chalamet

Actor Lee Byung-hun has been nominated for Best Actor at a major U.S. awards ceremony, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with some of Hollywood’s biggest names.

According to the Hollywood Creative Alliance, the full list of nominees for the 2025 Astra Film Awards was revealed on November 26 — and Lee Byung-hun earned a spot in the highly competitive Best Actor category. His fellow nominees include Leonardo DiCaprio, Timothée Chalamet, Brendan Fraser, George Clooney, and Jesse Plemons.

This marks yet another major international recognition for Lee, who has been expanding his global presence through critically acclaimed projects.

Four Major Nominations Including Best Picture

Lee Byung-hun’s latest film “There’s Nothing We Can Do” (directed by Park Chan-wook) also secured multiple nominations, including:

  • Best Picture
  • Best International Feature
  • Best Adapted Screenplay

With a total of four nominations, the film continues to gain major traction during the North American awards season.

A Strong Run Through the 2025 Awards Circuit

Lee Byung-hun has been receiving steady recognition from global film festivals and critics groups. Earlier this year, he received:

  • Special Tribute Award at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF)
  • Wins at the Newport Beach Film Festival
  • Honors at the Gotham Awards

Most recently, at the 11th Asian World Film Festival (AWFF), he was presented with the Excellence in Cinema Award, given to individuals who have achieved outstanding accomplishments in the film industry.

As the Astra Film Awards approach, all eyes are on whether Lee Byung-hun will secure another landmark win in his already historic international career.
