JTBC’s new weekend drama “Surely Tomorrow” is preparing for its premiere, and anticipation is growing as lead actors Park Seo-joon and Won Ji-an share insight into their characters’ powerful relationship.
In the series, Park Seo-joon plays Lee Kyung-do, while Won Ji-an stars as Seo Ji-woo — two people whose bond remains unshakeable, even after long separations and complex twists of fate.

Park Seo-joon: “Their relationship can only be described as love.”
Park Seo-joon described Kyung-do and Ji-woo’s relationship with one defining keyword: “love.”
He explained:
“Time goes by and circumstances shift, so love may change its shape. But when you look at Kyung-do and Ji-woo, you can see that the emotion itself never disappears. You simply can’t talk about their relationship without talking about love.”

Won Ji-an: “They’re like magnets.”
Won Ji-an described their connection with another symbolic word: “magnet.”
“There has to be a pull the two of them can’t resist. Without that kind of magnetic force, their long, winding relationship wouldn’t be possible.”
Together, their descriptions highlight the drama’s central theme: two people who are endlessly drawn back to each other by a love they cannot ignore.
Park Seo-joon on Won Ji-an: “When we first met, she was Ji-woo.”
Park Seo-joon confessed he was especially curious about who would be cast as Ji-woo.
“From the casting stage, I wondered who would play Ji-woo. When I met Won Ji-an for the first time, she felt exactly like the Ji-woo I’d imagined. That gave me confidence in the project.”
Because Surely Tomorrow is filled with emotional scenes, he added that he and Won Ji-an built trust while filming, relying on each other to portray the characters’ deep connection.
Won Ji-an’s gratitude: “He supported me through the emotionally heavy scenes.”
Won Ji-an shared her experience working alongside Park Seo-joon:
“We constantly talked with the director and each other about how to shape each scene. As the story deepens, there were times when the emotional and physical intensity became overwhelming, and Park Seo-joon sunbaenim always helped me through those moments.”
She added that his attentiveness and thoughtful guidance allowed her to learn and grow throughout filming.
A timeless romance built on distance, destiny, and enduring emotion
“Surely Tomorrow” follows two people who part ways and reunite across time, their connection strengthened rather than weakened by the years between them.
With Park Seo-joon and Won Ji-an’s chemistry already drawing buzz, viewers are eager to see how their heartfelt story unfolds.
JTBC’s Surely Tomorrow premieres on December 6 at 10:40 p.m.
