Producer Teddy, head of The Black Label and one of the most influential figures in modern K-pop, has been awarded the Prime Minister’s Commendation at the 2025 Korea Content Awards. The ceremony, hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency, took place on December 10 at COEX in Seoul.

The Korea Content Awards recognize creators and industry leaders who significantly contribute to the development, export, and global expansion of Korean content. Teddy was selected as the honoree in the Overseas Expansion Contribution category, acknowledged for his pivotal role in spreading Hallyu and fostering international cultural exchange.

A Visionary Producer Behind K-pop’s Most Defining Sounds

Teddy’s influence on the global music scene spans nearly two decades. He rose to prominence as the producer behind some of K-pop’s most iconic hits, crafting chart-topping tracks for BIGBANG, 2NE1, and BLACKPINK. His sonic style bold, emotional, and instantly recognizable has become one of the core foundations of the modern K-pop sound.

Through The Black Label, Teddy has continued shaping the industry, discovering and developing artists with standout identities. His work with emerging acts like Miyo and the All Day Project further demonstrates his commitment to cultivating fresh talent and broadening the musical spectrum of Korean pop.

A Key Creative Force Behind K-pop Demon Hunters

Teddy also contributed extensively to the soundtrack of Netflix’s global hit animated film K-pop Demon Hunters, composing multiple OST tracks that played a crucial role in amplifying the film’s emotional and musical energy. The soundtrack’s blend of modern pop, fantasy elements, and high-impact production helped strengthen the film’s global appeal further solidifying his presence as a cultural force beyond traditional music platforms.
