South Korean police have reportedly conducted a search and seizure of PSY’s agency, P NATION, as part of an investigation into the singer’s alleged illegal receipt of prescription sleep medications.
According to reports on December 11, the Seoul Seodaemun Police Station executed a warrant on December 4, searching the agency’s office in Sinsa-dong, Gangnam, as well as vehicles linked to the company. Investigators also seized PSY’s mobile phone for digital forensics and collected materials related to non-face-to-face prescription records and proxy pickup procedures.

The case stems from allegations that PSY, 48, received prescriptions for the psychotropic medications Xanax and Stilnox without undergoing required in-person consultations. Police say the drugs were allegedly picked up on his behalf by a manager from a university hospital in Seoul between 2022 and recent months.
Both medications are classified as controlled substances in Korea, typically used for anxiety, insomnia, and depressive disorders. Due to their high dependency and addiction risks, Korean medical law generally requires face-to-face diagnosis and personal pickup.

P NATION stated that they have been “cooperating fully with investigative authorities” and will continue to comply with legal procedures.
PSY previously acknowledged that he has been receiving treatment for chronic sleep disorders and admitted that there were instances where a third party picked up his medication.
He apologized to the public, saying he was sorry for causing concern.
As the investigation continues, authorities are reviewing prescription records, communication logs, and potential medical law violations.
