BLACKPINK’s Lisa has officially been named to the 2026 Met Gala Host Committee, marking another milestone in her global influence within the fashion industry. The announcement places her alongside an impressive roster of Hollywood stars, top designers, and cultural leaders, while Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams, and Anna Wintour will serve as this year’s co-chairs.

Lisa Joins the Met Gala’s 2026 Host Committee
Lisa joins the host committee with Sabrina Carpenter, Doja Cat, Sam Smith, Yseult, Misty Copeland, Teyana Taylor, Elizabeth Debicki, Gwendoline Christie, Lena Dunham, Paloma Elsesser, Lauren Wasser, Alex Consani, Vogue editor Chloe Malle, and artist Anna Weyant.
Her selection underscores the Met Gala’s growing recognition of K-pop’s global reach and the star’s expanding presence in luxury fashion.
The 2026 committee will be led by Saint Laurent’s Anthony Vaccarello and actor-director Zoë Kravitz.
Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams, and Anna Wintour Lead as Co-Chairs
For 2026, the Met Gala welcomes a powerful group of co-chairs:
- Beyoncé — returning after previously serving as Honorary Chair in 2013
- Nicole Kidman — co-chair in 2003 and 2005
- Venus Williams — serving as co-chair for the first time
- Anna Wintour — continuing her long-standing leadership of the gala
The Met Gala remains the primary fundraiser for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute, raising a record $31 million last year.

2026 Theme: “Costume Art”
Next year’s Met Gala will be held in connection with the museum’s spring exhibition, “Costume Art,” which examines the relationship between the human body and fashion across centuries.
Curated by Andrew Bolton, the exhibition will explore thematic sections such as:
- The nude body
- The classical body
- The pregnant body
- The aging body
The show will be housed in the Met’s newly unveiled Conde Nast Galleries, a 1,115㎡ expansion designed to accommodate major costume exhibitions and ease visitor congestion during gala season.
A New Era for Fashion and Culture
Met CEO Max Hollein stated that the upcoming exhibition will highlight “how fashion is deeply interconnected with painting, sculpture, drawing, and broader cultural narratives.” Bolton added that the show aims to affirm fashion’s essential place in both art history and modern culture.
Beyoncé’s Iconic Met Gala Legacy Revisited
The announcement has renewed interest in Beyoncé’s past Met Gala looks — from her 2015 Givenchy jeweled nude gown, which ignited a global fashion trend, to her bold latex dress the following year. Fashion fans are already anticipating her 2026 appearance.
Exhibition Opens May 10, 2026
The “Costume Art” exhibition will run from May 10, 2026, through January 10, 2027, with the Met Gala serving as its official opening celebration.
Lisa’s participation in the host committee positions her alongside some of the most influential figures in global fashion, reaffirming her status as one of the world’s most prominent cultural icons.
