Some songs peak fast and disappear. BTS’ Jungkook’s solo track “Standing Next to You” is doing the opposite.

Released in November 2023, the song has now surpassed 1.35 billion streams on Spotify (pre-filtered), a milestone few solo tracks ever reach. What makes the achievement even more striking is its consistency: more than a year after release, the song is still averaging around 700,000 streams per day, proving its lasting global appeal.

Thanks to this record, Jungkook now owns two songs exceeding 1.35 billion Spotify streams, reinforcing his position not just as a group member, but as a dominant solo artist in the global music market.

The song’s chart performance tells the same story. “Standing Next to You” topped Spotify’s Global Daily Top Songs, remained in the Top 50 for over 120 days, and stayed on the chart for more than 370 days in total. It also entered Spotify’s exclusive Billions Club, reserved for tracks that pass one billion streams.

On Billboard’s Hot 100, the song debuted at No. 5 and charted for 19 consecutive weeks. It also reached No. 1 on both the Global 200 and Global (Excl. U.S.) charts, staying there for 38 and 44 weeks, respectively. In the UK, it entered the Official Singles Chart Top 100 at No. 6 and remained for 11 weeks.

Critical acclaim followed the numbers. Jungkook won “Most Performed Song of the Year” at the 2025 BMI Pop Awards for “Standing Next to You.” The Usher remix of the track was ranked No. 1 on The HoneyPOP’s list of the Best K-pop Collaborations of 2024. GRAMMY.com named it one of the 15 K-pop songs that defined 2023, calling it a track with long-term, timeless potential. The song also appeared on the Los Angeles Times’ list of the 100 best songs of 2023.

Live performances amplified the buzz, with global audiences comparing Jungkook’s stage presence to Michael Jackson. He was even reportedly invited to perform with Usher at the 2024 Super Bowl Halftime Show, though the appearance did not materialize due to his military service schedule.

Year-end data further confirmed his impact. In Spotify Wrapped 2025, Jungkook ranked No. 8 globally among K-pop artists and claimed the No. 1 spot among K-pop male soloists worldwide. His solo single “Seven” also placed in Spotify’s list of the most-streamed K-pop songs globally.

More than a hit, “Standing Next to You” has become proof of something rare in pop music — a song that doesn’t cool down, but continues to grow.
