Actress Jeon Jong Seo shared heartfelt reflections on her collaboration with Han Sohee in the upcoming film Project Y, offering a glimpse into their chemistry both on and off the screen.
On December 16, a production press conference for Project Y (directed by Lee Hwan) was held at Megabox COEX in Seoul. Director Lee Hwan attended the event alongside cast members Han Sohee, Jeon Jong Seo, Kim Shin Rok, Jung Young Joo, Lee Jae Kyun, and YooA, where they discussed the film and their experiences during production.

“Just Having Her There Was a Source of Strength”
Speaking at the event, Jeon Jong Seo described working with Han Sohee as a deeply reassuring experience. “Just knowing that Sohee was there as a friend, a colleague, and someone walking through this project together with me gave me a lot of comfort and strength,” she said.
She noted that filming Project Y was physically and emotionally demanding. “It’s a very dynamic film, so there were many difficult scenes, especially during cold weather, and it required a lot of energy,” Jeon explained. “In those moments, I was surprised to see how So-hee would jump straight into filming without holding back.”
Respect Beyond the Camera
Jeon went on to praise Han Sohee’s attitude on set, saying it left a strong impression on her. “As a person, she’s someone I learned a lot from,” Jeon said, emphasizing that Han’s commitment and fearlessness elevated the atmosphere during filming. She also revealed a more personal side of their relationship, describing Han Sohee as “a cultural friend.” “She loves drawing, and I actually received a few of her paintings,” Jeon shared with a smile. “She has talents that I don’t have, and that made her even more inspiring to me.”
About Project Y
Project Y follows Mi Seon (played by Han Sohee) and Do Kyung (played by Jeon Jong Seo), two women who have nothing but each other as they attempt to escape their harsh reality. Pushed to the edge of their lives, they become entangled in a dangerous scheme involving hidden black money and gold bars.
The film is directed by Lee Hwan, known for his raw and intense storytelling in Park Hwa-young (2018) and Young Adult Matters (2021). With its focus on desperation, survival, and human connection, Project Y is expected to deliver a gripping and emotionally charged narrative.
Editor’s Insight
What stands out about Project Y isn’t just its intense premise, but the dynamic between Han Sohee and Jeon Jong Seo a pairing that feels strategically significant in today’s K-film landscape. Both actresses are known for portraying emotionally complex, often unpredictable characters, and placing them at the center of a survival-driven narrative creates a rare kind of dual-lead structure. Jeon’s comments reveal something important: their chemistry isn’t built on contrast alone, but on mutual intensity and trust. In an industry where female-led stories are still often limited, Project Y positions two strong leads not in competition, but in shared desperation and connection. That shift from rivalry to alliance could be what makes this film resonate beyond its genre, especially with global audiences increasingly drawn to character-driven storytelling.
