Rookie girl group KiiiKiii has earned major international recognition, being selected by British fashion and culture magazine DAZED as one of the standout K-pop acts of the year.
On December 16, DAZED unveiled its annual list, ‘The 30 Best K-pop Tracks of 2025,’ which included KiiiKiii’s debut title track ‘DANCING ALONE.’ The selection highlights the group’s growing global presence and affirms their artistic impact beyond the Korean market.

“A Hidden Gem with One of the Most Visually Interesting Debuts”
DAZED described KiiiKiii as “a hidden gem of a group that has delivered one of the most visually intriguing debuts in recent years.” The magazine praised ‘DANCING ALONE’ as a song that clearly showcases the group’s natural yet distinctive aesthetic and their unique approach to portraying ordinary girls.
The publication further noted, “Playful yet quietly moving, the track unravels the complex emotions of girls—friendship, secrets, love, and misunderstandings evoking excitement, warmth, and even a subtle sense of heartbreak.” The review underscored the song’s ability to balance emotional depth with accessibility, a quality that resonated strongly with international listeners.
A City Pop–Inspired Debut That Struck a Chord
Released in August as the title track of KiiiKiii’s first digital single album, ‘DANCING ALONE’ blends city pop and retro synth pop into a polished dance track. Despite its upbeat tempo, the song maintains an unhurried groove, paired with bright, straightforward melodies that linger after first listen.
The track’s honest lyrics and vivid depiction of friendship quickly captured attention. Domestically, it peaked at No. 3 on Melon’s HOT100 chart (within 30 days of release). Internationally, it entered iTunes Top Songs charts across six regions, including Thailand, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Vietnam, France, and Japan, while also ranking on Top K-pop Songs charts in markets such as the UK, Brazil, Türkiye, and Taiwan.
Visual Storytelling That Resonated Worldwide
DAZED’s evaluation was further reflected in the ‘DANCING ALONE’ music video, which depicts fragments of friendship set in familiar spaces schools, riversides, bowling alleys. Through small, tender gestures like sharing earphones, tying each other’s hair, or splitting an ice cream, the video evokes universal memories of youth and companionship. This relatable storytelling transcended borders, earning the video repeated placements on YouTube’s Trending Music charts and sparking widespread emotional resonance among viewers of all ages and nationalities.
Expanding Musical Boundaries
KiiiKiii continued to explore their musical identity by collaborating with producer Park Moon-chi, releasing a special album that reinterpreted ‘DANCING ALONE’ through sounds spanning from the 1990s to the present. The project included remixes inspired by 90s R&B, future bass, EDM, and other genre-defining styles, signaling the group’s willingness to experiment and evolve early in their career.
Growing Global Footprint
Beyond music releases, KiiiKiii has steadily expanded its global activities. The group appeared at Kansai Collection 2025 A/W at Kyocera Dome Osaka in August, followed by a performance at Music Expo Live 2025 at Tokyo Dome in November—where they stood as the only K-pop girl group on the lineup. Their appearances drew attention from major Japanese media outlets, further solidifying their international profile.
Looking Ahead
KiiiKiii is set to meet fans again on December 20, when they take the stage at the 2025 Melon Music Awards (MMA2025) at Seoul’s Gocheok Sky Dome.
