MONSTA X continues to prove its global influence as the group enters its 10th year.
On December 16, British magazine DAZED selected MONSTA X’s track “Do What I Want” for its list of “The 30 Best K-Pop Tracks of 2025.” The outlet praised the group for maintaining a strong musical identity and high artistic quality in an ever-changing K-pop landscape.
“Do What I Want,” a pre-release track from their September mini album THE X, was composed by Joohoney, with lyrics co-written by Joohoney and I.M. The song reflects MONSTA X’s confidence and raw energy, refined through a decade of experience.

DAZED noted that even after completing military service, MONSTA X has not abandoned the intense sound that defined their early years. Instead, the group has strengthened its signature style, calling their musical direction a meaningful choice for a third-generation act in today’s fifth-generation idol era.
The recognition adds to an already impressive year. MONSTA X recently won two awards at the 10th Anniversary Asia Artist Awards 2025, including Best Artist and History of K-Pop. Their album THE X also debuted at No.31 on the Billboard 200, charting across multiple Billboard categories.

Currently active in the United States, MONSTA X has been drawing massive crowd responses during the 2025 iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour, performing in major cities such as New York, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C.
The group will conclude the Jingle Ball Tour in Miami on December 20, before launching a new world tour, “THE X : NEXUS,” starting with three nights at Seoul’s KSPO DOME from January 30 to February 1, 2026.
Ten years in, MONSTA X continues to expand its global footprint — not by following trends, but by confidently refining its own sound.
Editor’s Insight
MONSTA X’s entry into their 11th year feels less like a legacy lap and more like a high-octane rebirth. In an industry that often favors the “new and shiny” of the fifth generation, the group has pulled off a rare feat by doubling down on their “ferocious chaos” rather than softening their edges. The critical acclaim for “Do What I Want” a track self-produced by Joohoney and I.M proves that their “beast-idol” DNA is more relevant than ever, especially as their 10th-anniversary album THE X secured a career-high 427,000 first-week sales.
