Jin of BTS has reached a major milestone as a solo artist. His first mini-album, HAPPY, has surpassed one million copies sold on both Hanteo Chart and Circle Chart, officially earning the title of a double million-seller.
According to chart data, HAPPY has shown particularly strong performance on the Circle Chart, where its cumulative sales have exceeded three million copies, underscoring Jin’s formidable album power beyond group activities.
Released on November 15, HAPPY quickly built momentum. On its first day alone, the album recorded over 845,000 copies sold on Hanteo, debuting at No.1 on the daily album chart. The figure notably surpassed the initial sales of Jin’s 2022 solo single The Astronaut, signaling clear growth in his solo fanbase.

Sales continued steadily in the weeks that followed, eventually pushing the album past the million mark on both major Korean charts. The achievement adds to Jin’s already impressive solo track record. His previous release, The Astronaut, exceeded one million sales within a month of its release and went on to rank among the highest-selling solo albums of the year.
HAPPY has also posted strong results overseas—particularly in Japan. In December, the Recording Industry Association of Japan announced that the album had surpassed 250,000 copies shipped, earning Platinum certification. This marks Jin’s first platinum award as a soloist, improving on the Gold certification previously achieved by The Astronaut.

On Japan’s Oricon charts, HAPPY topped the Weekly Digital Album Ranking shortly after release and claimed No.1 on the Daily Album Chart on release day alone. The album later ranked as the top-selling release by a K-pop solo artist on Billboard Japan’s year-end album sales chart.
Global digital performance further highlights the album’s reach. HAPPY topped iTunes album charts in 48 countries and regions, while its title track “Running Wild” reached No.1 on iTunes song charts in 70 regions and also led Spotify Japan’s Daily Top Songs chart.
With consistent success across Korea, Japan, and global platforms, HAPPY demonstrates Jin’s steady transition from solo single releases to full-fledged album dominance. From physical sales to international charts, the album firmly establishes Jin as a powerful global solo artist—one whose momentum continues to build with each release.
Editor’s Insight
Jin’s success with HAPPY is not just about numbers. It reveals a deeper shift in BTS’s overall dynamic.
As the group prepares for future full-member activities, each member’s solo career is evolving into a powerful pillar of its own. Jin’s double million-seller status shows that BTS’s influence is no longer concentrated only in group releases. It now extends across multiple individual brands, each capable of driving global impact.
What makes this achievement especially notable is the consistency. Unlike viral-driven spikes, HAPPY demonstrates sustained sales, strong physical demand, and balanced digital performance. That combination is rare and signals long-term stability rather than temporary hype.
It also positions Jin as a unique type of soloist. His appeal is not built on trend-driven experimentation, but on emotional resonance, vocal clarity, and a sense of sincerity that connects across cultures.
If this trajectory continues, Jin’s next release may not just repeat this success. It could redefine expectations for what a K-pop solo artist can achieve globally.
