A Story of Collision and Hidden Motives

‘Humint’ centers on individuals driven by conflicting goals who inevitably clash. The title refers to “human intelligence,” a form of information gathering rooted in trust, relationships, and emotional access setting the stage for a story where personal choices carry geopolitical consequences.

Zo In Sung stars as “Director Jo,” a National Intelligence Service black agent tracking signs of international crime. Park Jung Min takes on the role of Park Geon, a North Korean State Security Department leader dispatched to Vladivostok. Their opposing missions form the film’s central axis of tension.

Park Hae Joon portrays Hwang Chi Seong, a North Korean consul general who keeps a close watch on Park Geon, while Shin Se Kyung plays Chae Sun Hwa, a North Korean restaurant worker who becomes entangled with Director Jo.

Posters and Teaser Set the Tone

The newly released posters rely on presence alone, suggesting a heavy, character-driven narrative through the combination of the four leads. One version highlights their collective weight, while another presents a montage of individual profiles, reinforcing the film’s layered perspectives. The launch teaser further raises anticipation with glimpses of pursuits, gunfire, and confrontations. Zo In Sung, Park Jung Min, and Park Hae Joon appear transformed with sharp, restrained visuals, while Shin Se Kyung introduces a quieter, enigmatic energy that contrasts with the surrounding tension.

Completing an Overseas Trilogy

‘Humint’ marks the third installment in Ryoo Seung Wan’s overseas location trilogy, following ‘The Berlin File’ and ‘Escape from Mogadishu’. Though set in Vladivostok, the film was shot on location in Latvia, capturing the city’s distinct atmosphere with cinematic precision.
