A new incident involving an attempted intrusion at the residence of Jungkook of BTS has been confirmed, following a series of similar cases reported earlier this year.
According to the Yongsan Police Station on December 22, a Japanese woman in her 50s has been booked without detention on charges of attempted trespassing. The case is currently under investigation after a formal complaint was filed. At the request of the complainant, authorities have also applied charges under South Korea’s anti-stalking law.
Police stated that the woman allegedly attempted to open the locking mechanism of Jungkook’s detached home in Yongsan District multiple times between November 12 and 14. However, as the suspect is not currently staying in South Korea, a formal interrogation has not yet taken place.
This incident follows earlier cases involving Jungkook’s residence. In August, a Korean woman in her 40s was caught entering the parking area of the property and was later forwarded to prosecutors in October on charges of trespassing and violating the anti-stalking law. Additionally, a Chinese woman in her 30s who attempted to enter the residence but did not succeed received a non-prosecution disposition.
Big Hit Music, Jungkook’s agency, has not released an additional statement regarding the latest case. Fans have once again expressed concern over the artist’s privacy and personal safety, urging stronger measures to prevent repeated incidents.
Authorities continue to emphasize that unauthorized attempts to access private residences constitute serious criminal offenses and that investigations will proceed in accordance with the law.
