Actress Kim Se-jeong added another major achievement to her career, taking home the Top Excellence Award in the Miniseries category at the 2025 MBC Drama Awards.
The ceremony took place on December 30 at the MBC Media Center in Sangam, Seoul. Kim Se-jeong was honored for her performance in the Friday–Saturday drama Moon River, where she played the role of Park Dal-i.
A Performance That Carried the Series
In Moon River, Kim Se-jeong delivered a complex performance that placed her at the heart of the story. The historical fantasy romance follows a crown prince who has lost his emotions and a merchant woman who has lost her memories, with a supernatural soul-switching twist.
Kim Se-jeong took on the challenge of portraying multiple identities within the same narrative, seamlessly shifting between Park Dal-i, the crown princess Kang Yeon-wol, and a soul-exchanged version of the river spirit Yi-gang. Her performance balanced humor, emotional depth, and fantasy elements, earning praise for its versatility and steady character development throughout the series.
Critics and viewers alike highlighted her ability to move naturally between lively dialect acting, heartfelt emotional scenes, and comedic reactions required by the drama’s fantastical setting.

Double Win With Best Couple Award
In addition to the Top Excellence Award, Kim Se-jeong also received the Best Couple Award alongside actor Kang Tae-oh, who starred opposite her in the drama. The pair’s chemistry resonated strongly with viewers, earning them recognition through audience voting.
Kim Se-jeong humorously noted that she especially wanted to win the award for the sake of the staff members who captured their scenes so beautifully, adding that she hopes to be invited back as a couple even outside of historical costume dramas.

Kim Se-jeong continues to maintain an active presence across both acting and music. Earlier this month, she released her single Solar System, and she is set to meet fans worldwide through her 2026 global fan concert tour, beginning in Seoul on January 10.
