Singer and actress IU closed out the year with a meaningful act of generosity, donating a total of ₩200 million to support socially vulnerable groups across South Korea.
According to her agency, EDAM Entertainment, IU made the donation under the name “IUaeNa”, a combination of her name and her official fan club, symbolizing a shared act of giving with her supporters.

Supporting Those Most in Need
The donation was distributed evenly among four organizations:
Korea Single Mothers Family Association,
National Center for the Rights of the Child,
Love Snail, and
Wooyang Foundation.
Each organization received ₩50 million, with funds allocated to assist single mothers facing economic hardship, young adults transitioning out of child welfare systems, people with hearing impairments in need of cochlear implants or hearing aids, and elderly individuals at risk of food insecurity during the winter months.
A Consistent Commitment to Giving
IU has long been recognized for her steady charitable efforts, choosing to donate on meaningful occasions such as her debut anniversary, birthday, Children’s Day, and the year-end holiday season. Earlier this year, she donated ₩200 million to support wildfire recovery efforts in the Gyeongsang region and to improve working conditions for firefighters.

She also contributed ₩150 million for children and adolescents on Children’s Day and made additional large donations on both her birthday and debut anniversary, continuing a pattern of sustained and intentional philanthropy.
Continuing Her Work On and Off Screen
While extending her support beyond the stage and screen, IU remains active in her professional career. She is currently filming her upcoming MBC drama Perfect Crown, set to air next year.
As 2025 comes to a close, IU’s latest donation once again underscores her influence not only as a cultural icon, but also as a consistent advocate for compassion and social responsibility.
