SF9’s Inseong is officially stepping into his next chapter as a solo artist, heightening anticipation with the release of a new set of concept photos that showcase a softer, more romantic side of his musical identity.
On January 6, FNC Entertainment unveiled the second concept photos for Inseong’s first solo mini album ‘Crossfade:’ through the agency’s official SNS channels. The newly revealed images immediately drew attention for their contrasting mood, offering a warm counterpoint to the previously released “Real Me” version.

Two Concepts, One Identity
While the earlier “Real Me” concept emphasized restraint and cool-toned minimalism, the latest “Covered Me” version leans into warmth and emotional openness. Set in spaces adorned with flowers and balloons, Inseong appears relaxed and expressive, striking free flowing poses that radiate ease and sincerity.
His gentle smile becomes the focal point of the images, softening the overall atmosphere and highlighting a romantic sensibility that feels both natural and inviting. The contrast between the two visual concepts suggests a deliberate narrative rather than a simple aesthetic shift one that mirrors the album’s core theme.

‘Crossfade:’ Where Two Selves Meet
Inseong’s mini album ‘Crossfade:’ explores the moment where two versions of the self intersect. The project is built around the idea that “the real me” and “the masked me” coexist within one person, sometimes clashing and sometimes blending into something new.
Through its dual concept photos, the album visually captures that transition the gradual overlap where boundaries blur and identities merge. Rather than choosing one side over the other, ‘Crossfade:’ embraces complexity, presenting Inseong as an artist willing to confront and articulate his inner contradictions.
Musically, the album is expected to reflect that same emotional layering. Inseong plans to tell his own story with honesty, supported by deepened vocal expression and more refined musical nuance. Known as one of SF9’s strongest vocalists, he is now positioning his voice not just as a technical asset, but as a storytelling tool.

A Significant Step as a Solo Artist
‘Crossfade:’ marks Inseong’s official solo debut, a milestone that arrives after years of group activities with SF9. Industry observers note that his approach feels introspective rather than explosive focused on clarity, emotion, and identity rather than spectacle.
This direction aligns with Inseong’s steady artistic image, built on consistency and emotional resonance rather than abrupt reinvention. By presenting two contrasting yet connected sides of himself, he signals that his solo work will prioritize depth over immediacy.
Release Plans and Upcoming Stages
Inseong will release ‘Crossfade:’ on January 14, followed by a mini live event where he will meet fans and perform songs from the album for the first time. Later in the month, on January 31, he is set to appear at ‘2026 First Music Station,’ marking his first-ever solo festival stage in Korea.
