SEVENTEEN’s Joshua made a notable appearance at the 83rd Golden Globe Awards, stepping onto the red carpet as an official guest and marking a rare moment for a K-pop artist at one of Hollywood’s most prominent awards ceremonies.
Joshua attended the event on January 12 (Korean time) at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California. The Golden Globes, which honor film and television productions from around the world, have traditionally been centered on Hollywood and international screen industries, making his invitation particularly significant.

A Rare K-pop Presence at the Golden Globes
K-pop artists are seldom invited to the Golden Globe Awards, underscoring the growing global recognition of Korean pop culture beyond music charts and concert stages. Speaking to Billboard on the red carpet, Joshua shared his initial impressions of the experience. “It felt like I was on another planet at first,” he said. “But once I started seeing familiar faces, I felt much more comfortable.”
Signing With U.S. Agency UTA
Joshua also revealed a major career development during the event: he has signed with United Talent Agency (UTA), one of the leading talent agencies in the United States.
UTA has previously represented Korean actors such as Youn Yuh-jung, Lee Byung-hun, Park Hae-soo, and Kim Min-ha as they expanded into the U.S. market, positioning Joshua for broader opportunities beyond music.
Expressing Interest in Acting
During interviews, Joshua hinted at potential acting ambitions. When asked about roles he would like to explore, he pointed to comedy as a personal interest. “I’d love to appear in something like a comedy sitcom,” he said. “I grew up watching those kinds of shows.”
Reflecting on SEVENTEEN’s Military Hiatus Period
Joshua also addressed SEVENTEEN’s ongoing military enlistment period. Following Jeonghan’s start of alternative service last September, members Wonwoo, Hoshi, and Woozi are currently fulfilling their mandatory duties. Jeonghan is scheduled to be discharged in June.
Joshua expressed optimism about the period, describing it as an opportunity for individual growth that could ultimately strengthen the group. “I think this time can help us grow as solo artists as well,” he said. “When we come back together, the synergy will be even greater.”
A Global Red Carpet Moment
Joshua joined a star studded lineup at this year’s Golden Globes, with attendees including Jennifer Lawrence, Julia Roberts, Dakota Fanning, and Mark Ruffalo.
His appearance, alongside the announcement of his U.S. agency signing, marked a meaningful step in Joshua’s evolving global presence one that extends beyond K-pop and into the broader international entertainment landscape.
