Singer, producer, and More Vision CEO Jay Park officially unveiled his new boy group Lngshot at a debut showcase on January 13, describing the four member team as a project he created with complete personal commitment and long term vision.
Lngshot consisting of Ohyul, Ryul, Woojin, and Louis held their debut showcase at MyungHwa Live Hall in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul, ahead of the release of their first EP ‘SHOT CALLERS.’ Jay Park participated in the project as executive producer, overseeing the group’s concept, music direction, and overall identity.

A Project Born From Experience
Jay Park, now in his 18th year since debut, reflected on why he chose to produce an idol group at this stage in his career. “I’ve achieved a lot in hip hop and R&B, and I’ve built a company,” he said. “At some point, I started thinking about what comes next. As K-pop became a truly global industry, I wanted to create a team based on my own taste artists I genuinely enjoy listening to and believe in.”
Rather than assembling members to fit a predetermined idol mold, Jay emphasized that Lngshot was formed around individuals he felt he could fully support, both creatively and personally.
Introducing the Members
Jay Park spoke candidly about each member’s strengths. Leader Ohyul was praised for his clean visuals, distinctive vocal tone, musicality, and athleticism. Ryul, whom Jay first noticed during ‘Show Me the Money,’ was encouraged to study timeless and classic styles, resulting in what Jay described as a striking artistic evolution.
Woojin was highlighted for his curiosity and strong learning mindset, with Jay noting his growth in both dance and musical understanding. Louis, meanwhile, was described affectionately as having a “natural, unteachable tone,” often compared by listeners to Justin Bieber, with recent improvements in performance as well.
Defining ‘Lngshot’
The group’s name, Lngshot, refers to a decisive shot taken despite slim odds a metaphor for ambition and persistence. The debut EP ‘SHOT CALLERS’ carries a similar meaning, symbolizing leadership and self-determination. Both the group name and album title were personally chosen by Jay Park.
The EP includes five tracks spanning hip hop, R&B, and pop. Jay Park produced the album, with all members actively involved in the creative process. The title track, ‘Moonwalkin,’ captures youthful determination, comparing uncertain forward movement to a moonwalk progressing even when the path ahead isn’t clear.
Aiming for Longevity
When asked about their goals, the members repeatedly emphasized sincerity and longevity. Woojin shared that Jay Park taught them that authenticity means continuously pursuing what you love and convincing others through persistence. “Our name is Lngshot,” he said. “Even if it takes time, we’ll keep shooting until it lands.”
Louis added that he hopes to continue making music he genuinely enjoys, while Ryu expressed ambitions of becoming a recognizable brand within K-pop. The group’s shared goal, they said, is to become “timeless idols” artists whose music and identity endure beyond trends.
Lngshot officially begin their activities with the release of ‘SHOT CALLERS’ on January 13 at 6 p.m. KST, marking the start of a project built on patience, conviction, and long term vision.
