Hwang Dong-hyuk, the creator of Netflix’s global phenomenon ‘Squid Game,’ is returning to the platform as a producer for a new original Korean series titled ‘Dealer,’ with an ensemble cast led by Jung So-min and Ryu Seung-bum.
Netflix confirmed the production of ‘Dealer’ on January 14, announcing that Jung So-min, Ryu Seung-bum, Lee Soo-hyuk, and Ryu Kyung-soo have officially joined the project. The series is written by Oh Nu-i and Lee Tae-young, and directed by Choi Young-hwan.

A Crime Drama Set in the World of Gambling
‘Dealer’ is a crime drama centered on a casino dealer who is forced to return to a dangerous world she once sealed away in order to protect her future. As her carefully planned marriage collapses following an unexpected scam, she reactivates her hidden abilities and steps into high-stakes gambling arenas, where every decision carries life-altering consequences. The series explores survival, desperation, and moral compromise within the closed ecosystem of casinos and underground betting networks.
Jung So-min as a Dealer With a Secret
Jung So-min stars as Jung Geon-hwa, an elite casino dealer known for her calm precision and sharp instincts. While preparing for marriage and a stable life, Geon-hwa becomes the victim of a housing scam, pushing her back into the gambling world she once left behind.
The role marks a significant genre turn for Jung, who is expected to portray both emotional vulnerability and calculated control as her character navigates escalating risks.

Ryu Seung bum and Supporting Cast
Ryu Seung-bum plays Hwang Chi-soo, a seasoned gambler who survives by scraping together money within the casino system. He eventually joins Geon-hwa’s plan, forming an unstable partnership driven by necessity rather than trust.

Lee Soo-hyuk appears as Jo Joon, a mysterious player who dominates the poker table with exceptional skill and an unreadable expression. Ryu Kyung-soo takes on the role of Choi Woo-seung, Geon-hwa’s boyfriend, whose relationship with her becomes entangled in the fallout of her dangerous choices.

A Production Led by Proven Talent
Hwang Dong-hyuk serves as planner and producer, bringing his experience in global-scale storytelling following ‘Squid Game.’ Direction is handled by Choi Young-hwan, a veteran cinematographer known for films such as ‘Veteran,’ ‘The Thieves,’ ‘Tazza,’ and ‘Smugglers,’ signaling a visually dynamic approach to the series.
