Actor Park Bo-gum is returning to variety television with a heartfelt new project — and this time, he even named the show himself.
tvN’s upcoming variety program Bogum Magical, set to premiere on January 30 at 8:40 p.m. KST, follows Park Bo-gum and his close friends as they run a special barbershop in a quiet rural village, offering not only haircuts but comfort and connection.
The show stars Park Bo-gum alongside actors Lee Sang-yi and Kwak Dong-yeon, whose natural chemistry is already drawing attention ahead of the premiere.

A Title with Meaning — “Magical Time for Everyone”
The title Bogum Magical was personally created by Park Bo-gum. According to the actor, the name reflects his hope to give people “a magical time” through the moments they share together. The wordplay also combines “magical” with “magic and curl,” referencing hairstyling and transformation.
Recently released footage from the show’s opening ceremony shows the three actors visiting an old neighborhood barbershop before opening day. Park Bo-gum expressed his excitement, saying he felt grateful and reassured to be working with friends he deeply trusts.

Real Challenges, Real Growth
Adding authenticity to the project, Park Bo-gum is currently preparing for the national hairstylist certification (general), while Lee Sang-yi is challenging himself with the national nail technician certification. Kwak Dong-yeon takes on the role of the group’s cook, preparing warm winter snacks and meals that turn the barbershop into a welcoming community space.
During planning, the trio even debated the shop layout — with Kwak jokingly worrying about being left alone in the kitchen, leading to laughter and a playful “no whispering” rule among the cast.

A Healing Variety Show to Start the Year
Bogum Magical promises a blend of sincerity, humor, and quiet healing, showcasing a different side of Park Bo-gum as he steps beyond acting and into a hands-on, people-centered role.
The show premieres January 30 at 8:40 p.m. KST on tvN, offering viewers a warm and magical start to the year.
