EXO officially marked its long-awaited return with a celebratory showcase for its eighth full-length album ‘REVERXE,’ sharing new performances, behind the scenes stories, and heartfelt messages with fans.
The group held the album release showcase on January 19 at Kyung Hee University’s Peace Hall in Seoul, joining fans to commemorate the start of a new chapter as a complete team. The event served as both a performance introduction and a moment of reflection, highlighting EXO’s identity and bond with their fandom, EXO-L.
First Performances of ‘Crown’ and ‘I’m Home’
At the showcase, EXO unveiled the stage for their title track ‘Crown’ for the first time. Built around EXO’s signature SMP-style performance, the stage emphasized strong choreography, symbolic movements, and the group’s trademark vocal power. The performance immediately drew attention for its scale and intensity, reinforcing the album’s central themes of unity and protection.
The group also performed ‘I’m Home,’ a winter-themed B-side that has already resonated with fans for its warm, emotional tone. The contrast between the two stages showcased the album’s range, moving fluidly between power driven performance and quiet sentiment.
In between stages, the members introduced the album and shared behind-the-scenes stories from the production process. Lighthearted talk segments, including playful discussions about what it would be like if members’ bodies were “reversed” like the album title suggests, helped create a relaxed and intimate atmosphere.
“EXO-L Is Our Crown”
Opening the showcase, the members said they had “been waiting for this day,” expressing how meaningful the comeback felt. Speaking about the title track, they shared that ‘Crown’ was chosen after careful consideration. “It’s a song that represents EXO itself,” they explained, adding, “In the end, EXO-L is our crown.” The group went on to reflect on their journey, saying, “We’re proud and happy to be EXO. Now, all that’s left is for us to enjoy this time together with EXO-L and create good memories.”
Strong Global Response Upon Release
Released the same day, ‘REVERXE’ quickly demonstrated its global reach. The album topped QQ Music’s digital album sales chart in China and earned Double Platinum certification, surpassing 2 million yuan in sales. EXO also swept Tencent Music’s platforms, placing first through ninth on the integrated K-pop chart.
Internationally, the album reached No. 1 on iTunes Top Albums charts in 35 regions and entered the Top 10 in 48 regions worldwide. In Japan, it topped Recochoku’s daily album ranking and ranked first on AWA’s real time rising chart. Domestically, the album claimed No. 1 on Hanteo’s daily album chart, underscoring EXO’s continued influence.
