Actor and singer Lee Junho has stepped forward to lead a global child sponsorship campaign as both a donor and promotional ambassador for international NGO World Vision.
On January 21, World Vision officially launched its overseas child sponsorship campaign titled “Chosen – The Child’s Choice” with Lee Junho as the face of the initiative. The campaign allows children in need to personally choose their own sponsors, highlighting the values of dignity, autonomy, and mutual connection.

A Campaign That Lets Children Choose Their Sponsors
The “Chosen” campaign is currently active in countries such as Ghana, Kenya, and Ethiopia, and has already connected nearly 50,000 sponsors worldwide with children in need.
Participants submit their photo when signing up, which is later presented to children during special “Chosen Parties.” The children then select their own sponsors by choosing a photo, and sponsors receive a letter and photo from the child about a month later explaining their choice.
Sponsorship funds will support essential programs including nutrition, clean water, healthcare, and education tailored to each child’s local needs.
Lee Junho’s 16-Year Commitment to Child Sponsorship
Lee Junho has quietly supported overseas children for over 16 years, and his long-term involvement is now expected to inspire wider participation across Asia.
“Starting a relationship with just one photo makes this campaign truly special,” Lee said. “I hope many people will join this meaningful connection that begins with a child’s choice.”
New sponsors will also receive a special postcard featuring Lee Junho as a thank-you gift.
Expanding Across Asia
The campaign will begin in Korea and expand to Taiwan, Singapore, Indonesia, Japan, Thailand, and the Philippines in the coming months.
Lee Junho, formerly of 2PM and now a leading actor, continues to build his influence not only through hit dramas such as King the Land and Typhoon Company, but also through meaningful global philanthropy.
