BLACKPINK member Rosé has been nominated at one of the U.K.’s most prestigious music award ceremonies, further cementing her global presence as both a group member and solo artist.
On January 23, the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) announced the nominees for the 46th BRIT Awards, revealing Rosé as a contender in the International Song of the Year category. She was nominated for ‘APT.’, her collaboration with Bruno Mars, marking a significant milestone for K-pop artists on the British music scene.
A Historic Nomination for a K-pop Artist
The BRIT Awards, first established in 1977, are considered the United Kingdom’s most influential music honors. Nominees are selected through votes cast by a panel of more than 1,000 industry professionals, including radio and television DJs, broadcasters, record label executives, and music journalists. With this nomination, Rosé becomes the first K-pop artist to be nominated at the BRIT Awards both as part of a group and as a solo act, setting a new benchmark for Korean artists expanding into Western award circuits.
