With its release just weeks away, upcoming action thriller ‘Humint’ is drawing attention for the intense on-screen clash between Jo In-sung and Park Jung-min, whose sharply contrasted characters form the film’s emotional and kinetic core.

Set against the icy backdrop of Vladivostok, ‘Humint’ follows individuals with conflicting agendas whose secrets and truths are destined to sink into a frozen sea. The film opens in theaters on February 11, positioning itself as one of early 2026’s most anticipated Korean action titles.

A Collision of Ideologies and Action

At the center of ‘Humint’ is the volatile relationship between Jo In-sung’s Jo Gwajang, a National Intelligence Service black-ops agent, and Park Jung-min’s Park Geon, a North Korean State Security officer. The two characters are bound by a single exposed intelligence incident yet driven by opposing motives that make cooperation impossible and confrontation inevitable.

The newly revealed stills highlight their rivalry through raw, close-quarters action. Each strike and movement is charged not only with physical force but also with restrained emotion, emphasizing how personal conviction and national duty collide. Rather than relying solely on spectacle, ‘Humint’ uses action as a language for psychological tension, allowing the actors’ expressions and body language to deepen the conflict.

Performance-Driven Action

Jo In-sung brings his signature physicality and gravitas to Jo Gwajang, blending controlled intensity with emotional restraint. Known for balancing large-scale action with nuanced character work, he anchors the film with a commanding presence.

Opposite him, Park Jung-min once again proves his reputation as a transformation-driven actor. His portrayal of Park Geon is sharp and unpredictable, conveying internal conflict beneath disciplined exterior movements. The contrast between the two actors one measured and imposing, the other volatile and adaptive creates a dynamic that elevates every shared scene.

Bromance Built on Trust, On and Off Screen

While their characters are locked in relentless opposition, Jo In-sung and Park Jung-min describe a strong sense of trust behind the scenes. Jo noted that having previously worked together made the process more comfortable, adding that Park Jung-min served as a bridge between senior and junior cast members on set.

Park Jung-min echoed the sentiment, sharing that working alongside Jo In-sung gave him the confidence to push his performance further. “There’s a reassurance that comes from knowing your scene partner will support whatever choice you make,” he said.

A High-Stakes February Release

With its blend of hard hitting action, psychological tension, and actor-driven storytelling, ‘Humint’ is shaping up to be more than a conventional espionage thriller. The film promises a layered confrontation where ideology, loyalty, and human emotion collide led by two of Korea’s most compelling actors at the top of their game.

‘Humint’ opens in theaters nationwide on February 11.
