The nine-member girl group produced by Lee Soo-man made a fast chart entrance with its first digital single.
A2O LITE needed little more than a day to reach the top of Melon’s TOP100.
The rookie girl group released its debut digital single “NEON” on October 13 at 6 p.m. KST. By October 14 at 11 p.m., the song had reached No. 1, completing its climb in 29 hours.
The result gave the A2O Entertainment act, led by key producer Lee Soo-man, an immediate foothold on one of South Korea’s major music charts.

‘NEON’ makes a fast first impression
The Melon milestone was accompanied by first-place placements on Melon HOT100 and Bugs, according to the promotional figures reported by OSEN.
The report also cited chart-topping positions across eight countries and regions on Apple Music and iTunes, including Apple Music in South Korea and the overall iTunes charts in Italy and Malaysia.
On Spotify’s South Korea daily chart, “NEON” reached No. 14. The agency also reported No. 1 placements across several QQ Music rankings, including new-song and music-video categories.
These results describe separate platforms and chart categories, rather than a single worldwide ranking. Together, they show the range of the group’s early chart activity.
Heavy bass and layered vocals introduce ‘Zalpha Pop’
“NEON” presents A2O LITE as a group determined to keep moving beyond its first moment in the spotlight.
The track combines a weighty bass line with contrasting vocal textures and a cappella passages. Its repeated hook reinforces the song’s forward-looking message, introducing the sound A2O describes as “Zalpha Pop.”
The accompanying music video puts the nine members’ performance at the center. According to the agency’s release reporting, it also reached No. 1 on YouTube’s South Korean trending-video ranking.

An opening milestone for a new group
A2O LITE’s first week establishes “NEON” as a debut with a rapid chart breakthrough.
The 29-hour climb is the clearest milestone: a specific No. 1 placement at a documented time, achieved shortly after the group’s first single became available.
Editor’s Note
“NEON” is listed by Apple Music and Melon as an October 13, 2026 release. Its TOP100 achievement refers to the chart position recorded at 11 p.m. the following day, rather than a daily or weekly No. 1. Comparisons with older debut songs also require care because Melon has changed its chart systems over time.
