Park Bom of 2NE1 has sparked controversy after publicly revealing a legal complaint against YG Entertainment’s founder and producer Yang Hyun-suk, alleging that he failed to pay her rightful earnings.
On October 23, Park Bom posted on her personal social media account:
“Dear citizens using the internet, please find out exactly what YG has done to me. Thank you.”
The post included a photo of an official complaint listing Park Bom as the plaintiff and Yang Hyun-suk as the defendant.
“Unpaid Profits and Lack of Transparency”
In the document, Park accused Yang Hyun-suk of fraud and embezzlement, writing that he “failed to pay profits” owed to her from music releases, performances, broadcasts, advertisements, and songwriting activities.
“The defendant did not properly distribute the profits generated from all my professional activities. The total is estimated to be worth tens of billions of won,” she claimed, adding that “no proper payment or financial statement was ever shared.”
Park stated that this caused her serious financial loss and mental distress, insisting that the case be investigated thoroughly and prosecuted.
Online Reactions and Doubts
Netizens quickly reacted to the now-viral post, questioning the credibility of the alleged amount listed in the document — which included an oddly written number string such as “64272e trillion won.”
Park reportedly uploaded and deleted the post multiple times between October 22 and 23, heightening confusion among fans and the media. Some expressed concern for her health and mental state, while others demanded an official statement from YG Entertainment.
As of this writing, YG has not issued a formal response to Park Bom’s claims.
