EXO to Make Long-Awaited Comeback as Six Members Reunite — Lay Joins, ChenBaekXi Absent

EXO Returns After 2.5 Years With New Album and Fan Meeting

After two and a half years of silence, K-pop powerhouse EXO is officially coming back.
According to SM Entertainment, EXO will release their 8th full-length album in the first quarter of 2026, marking their first comeback since EXIST in 2023.

Before the album drops, EXO will reconnect with fans at their two-day fan meeting “EXO’verse” on December 13–14 at Inspire Arena in Incheon, where they’ll perform classics like First Snow and preview brand-new tracks from the upcoming album.

Six Members Reunite — Lay Returns to the Stage

This comeback features Suho, Chanyeol, D.O., Kai, Sehun, and Lay, marking Lay’s first official group activity in years.
However, Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin will not participate. The three are currently in an ongoing legal dispute with SM over contract and settlement issues after joining INB100, Baekhyun’s independent label.

From “Growl” to “Love Me Right”: A Legacy That Defined K-Pop Performance

Debuting in 2012 with twelve members, EXO became a symbol of second-generation excellence and third-generation innovation.
Their iconic hit “Growl” (2013) revolutionized K-pop performance with its flawless synchronization and single-take music video — still regarded as one of the most legendary MVs in K-pop history.

Other anthems like Overdose, Call Me Baby, Love Me Right, Ko Ko Bop, Tempo, and Love Shot have all showcased EXO’s sharp choreography and global appeal.

Recently, Love Me Right gained fresh attention after being featured in Netflix’s hit animation “K-Pop Demon Hunters” (“케데헌”), introducing a new generation of fans to EXO’s musical legacy.

Fan Meeting & Ticket Info

Tickets for “EXO’verse” will be available on Melon Ticket, with fan-club presales opening October 30 at 8 p.m. and general sales starting October 31 at 8 p.m.
Online streaming via Beyond LIVE and Weverse will be announced soon.

Editor’s Insight: Why This Comeback Matters

EXO’s comeback isn’t just a return it’s a reunion of artistry, loyalty, and legacy.
For many fans who grew up with Growl and Love Shot, this moment feels like coming home to the sound that shaped modern K-pop.

There is something inherently poetic about the title of EXO’s 8th full-length album, REVERXE. In the high-speed, “next-gen” world of 2026 K-pop, where the spotlight often moves on before the ink is dry, EXO’s return feels like a defiant “reverse” of time itself. This isn’t just another comeback; it is a high-stakes demonstration of consistency from a group that has weathered more storms than most groups face in a lifetime.
