EXO subunit ChenBaekXi (CBX) composed of Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin has officially reaffirmed their intention to resolve legal disputes with SM Entertainment and rejoin future EXO group activities.
Their agency, INB100, stated on the 30th, “ChenBaekXi remains committed to paying 10% of their personal activity revenue to SM Entertainment, as agreed, and will fulfill this obligation once ongoing legal proceedings are concluded.”
This comes after SM claimed earlier that the trio had not yet completed payment obligations under their June 2023 agreement.

Commitment to Resolution and Team Reunion
INB100 emphasized that CBX is eager to restore trust with both SM Entertainment and the other EXO members, expressing hope for a smooth reunion.
“ChenBaekXi sincerely apologizes to fans for any confusion during the legal process. The members are doing their best to honor the original agreement and rebuild mutual trust,” the statement read.
CBX also clarified misunderstandings surrounding a recent mediation session. The agency noted that both sides objected to a proposed settlement amount that had not been mutually agreed upon and that CBX’s objection “did not mean a lack of willingness to cooperate.
Background of the Dispute
The conflict began after the trio, who re-signed with SM in June 2023, accused the label of failing to provide full accounting data and imposing unfair contract terms.
SM responded by alleging breach of contract and demanding the 10% payment for personal activities managed under Baekhyun’s independent label INB100.
While both parties reached a conditional agreement allowing EXO to continue as a group, SM claims CBX has not yet fulfilled all terms.
SM also announced that EXO’s upcoming 8th studio album, set for release in early 2026, and the December fan meeting “EXOverse” will proceed without CBX, featuring six members — Suho, Chanyeol, Kai, Sehun, D.O., and Lay.
CBX’s Next Steps
Despite SM’s firm stance, CBX reiterated their wish to participate in EXO’s future projects and to mend the relationship.
“We are ready to fully cooperate with SM once legal procedures are settled. Our goal remains the same — to stand together again as EXO,” the trio shared through INB100.
However, with court proceedings and regulatory investigations having so far favored SM, observers note that CBX faces an uphill battle in regaining both contractual and public footing.
