The Korean comedy film First Ride, starring Kang Ha-neul, Cha Eun-woo, Kim Young-kwang, and Han Sun-hwa, is set to make its way across Asia after confirming theatrical releases in multiple countries.

According to distributor Showbox, the film will begin its overseas rollout on November 7 in Mongolia and Indonesia, followed by Macau, Singapore, and Hong Kong on November 13. It will then hit theaters in Taiwan on November 14, Thailand on November 20, and Vietnam on *November 21. Releases in Japan, New Zealand, and Australia are also on the horizon, reflecting strong regional demand for Korean comedy films.

Director Nam Dae-jung already has a successful track record in the Vietnamese market — his previous films The Great Wish and 30 Days achieved major popularity there, with 30 Days becoming the highest-grossing Korean romantic comedy ever released in Vietnam. Local distributor Mockingbird Pictures described First Ride as “a delightfully chaotic story of friendship and laughter,” predicting it could rekindle the K-comedy boom following 30 Days.

Taiwanese distributor Cai Chang also expressed confidence in the film’s success, noting the director’s comedic expertise and the star power of its cast. Meanwhile, Southeast Asian distributor Purple Plan praised the movie for its “heartfelt storytelling, lovable cast, and lively adventure,” saying it delivers both “laughter and warmth.”

In Japan, The Klockworx called the film “the refreshing comedy we’ve been waiting for,” while Megaton Entertainment in Hong Kong highlighted the film’s youthful energy, saying it captures “the freedom and impulsiveness of one’s twenties through a cast with irresistible chemistry.”

Currently showing in Korean theaters, First Ride follows a group of lifelong friends — Tae-jung (Kang Ha-neul), Do-jin (Kim Young-kwang), Yeon-min (Cha Eun-woo), Geum-bok (Kang Young-seok), and Ok-sim (Han Sun-hwa) — as they embark on their first-ever overseas trip, leading to an unforgettable journey full of laughter, mischief, and nostalgia.
