tvN’s weekend drama Typhoon Family continues to soar to new heights. The November 9 episode recorded an average nationwide rating of 9.4% and a peak of 10.6%, marking a new series high. It also ranked No.1 among all cable and general programming channels in its time slot, according to Nielsen Korea. In the Seoul metropolitan area, the show hit 10.9%, topping all networks, including terrestrial broadcasters.
The latest episode delivered a perfect balance of emotion and suspense. With Mi-seon’s (Kim Min-ha) meticulous photo records and Tae-poong’s (Lee Junho) quick thinking using a flashlight projector during the trial, the team successfully defended themselves in a bribery case. But there was little time to celebrate — the trio immediately raced to stop the destruction of their company’s helmet shipment, resulting in a thrilling chase across highways and ports using motorcycles and tuk-tuks.

Only 140 out of 500 helmets were saved, leaving Mi-seon in tears. Her boss Ma-jin (Lee Chang-hoon) comforted her, praising her as “the best salesperson.” He stayed behind in Thailand to recover the company’s losses, while Tae-poong returned to Korea to face a grim reality — only 120,000 won left in the company account. Determined to take responsibility, he decided to rent out the old office and reopen “Typhoon Family 2.0” inside a friend’s pub, marking a small but powerful fresh start for the team.

Meanwhile, romance began to bloom between Tae-poong and Mi-seon. In Thailand, Tae-poong confessed his gratitude, saying, “Thank you for always being there when I felt alone,” before kissing her. However, while he saw it as the start of a relationship, Mi-seon silently questioned if it was too soon — leaving their relationship in a delicate, uncertain phase.
The episode’s explosive ending unveiled the dark mystery surrounding the company. CEO Pyo Park-ho (Kim Sang-ho), who had long schemed to take over Typhoon Family, was shown holding a torn page from an old 1989 ledger — the same year Tae-poong’s father (Sung Dong-il) kept similar records. His furious outburst demanding, “Where is my loan certificate?” revealed a decades-old secret that may change everything.
With record-breaking ratings and a thrilling cliffhanger, Typhoon Family continues to dominate weekend TV, captivating audiences with its mix of comedy, emotion, and high-stakes corporate mystery.
Typhoon Family airs every Saturday and Sunday at 9:10 PM on tvN.
