At the 46th Blue Dragon Film Awards on November 19, star couple Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin captured the spotlight with their warm gestures and affectionate chemistry—while also making history as the first married couple ever to win Best Actor and Best Actress in the same year.
The ceremony was held at KBS Hall in Yeouido, where the couple walked the red carpet together before the show. When asked jokingly who should win if only one of them could take home the major award, Hyun Bin smiled and said, “I’ll take it.” Son Ye-jin laughed, adding, “I’m sure he’d choose himself. But if it’s between us… I pick me.”
A Historic Double Win
Hyun Bin was the first to be called to the stage, earning Best Actor for Harbin. As he stood, Son Ye-jin immediately rose from her seat, clapping proudly before Hyun Bin leaned in to give her a brief, heartfelt hug.
During his acceptance speech, Hyun Bin thanked his wife directly, saying:
“To my wife Ye-jin, who gives me great strength, and to our son—I love you and I’m grateful.”
Shortly after, Son Ye-jin won Best Actress for There Was No Choice. Hyun Bin once again embraced her, creating one of the most memorable moments of the night.
This marked the first time in Blue Dragon history that a married acting couple claimed both major performance awards in the same ceremony.
