Nominated in Japan and Singapore for Best Actress

On December 2, her agency Fanfare announced that Shim Eun Kyung has been nominated for Best Actress at both the 38th Nikkan Sports Film Awards in Japan and the 36th Singapore International Film Festival. Both festivals are regarded as leading platforms for Asian cinema, with histories dating back to 1988 and 1987 respectively. The dual nominations highlight the international acclaim surrounding her latest project and reaffirm her standing as one of Korea’s most respected actors working abroad.

A Poetic Story of Change in ‘Days and Travel’

Days and Travel is the newest work from director Sho Miyake. Shim Eun-kyung plays screenwriter Tsutsumi Shinichi, who experiences an unexpected shift in life during a snowy journey. The quiet moments spent in a countryside inn become the turning point that reshapes his perspective, capturing themes of reflection, stillness, and subtle emotional awakening.

Critics have praised the film for its humanistic storytelling and understated beauty, with Shim Eun-kyung’s performance described as deeply immersive and sensitive.

International Recognition Across Major Festivals

The film has already made a powerful impression on the global festival circuit. It previously won the Golden Leopard, the highest honor, at the Locarno International Film Festival one of the world’s most prestigious cinema events. Locarno’s jury praised the film for “its profound portrayal of human essence.”

Days and Travel has also been invited to several international festivals, including the 73rd San Sebastián International Film Festival, the 22nd Reykjavík International Film Festival, and the 33rd Hamburg Film Festival, further cementing its status as a standout film of the year.

Korean Release Coming December 10

Following its global festival success, Days and Travel will open in Korean theaters on December 10. With multiple nominations and international acclaim behind it, anticipation is high for Shim Eun Kyung’s performance on the domestic big screen.
