A Character Fighting for a Life She Almost Reached

Han So-hee stars as Mi-seon, a woman who has spent her life fighting for a simple, ordinary future one she comes devastatingly close to achieving. Just before she reaches stability, a single incident upends everything, pushing her toward a desperate plan to steal illicit money.

The newly released stills highlight contrasting facets of her character: a soft, warm smile that hints at the peaceful life she longed for, and a sharp, intense gaze that reveals someone cornered by reality and forced into dangerous choices.

Han So-hee on Mi-seon: “A character who made me doubt and believe myself at the same time”

Reflecting on her role, Han So-hee shared how deeply she connected with Mi-seon’s emotional shifts. “Mi-seon is someone who made me think, ‘Can I really do this?’ while also giving me the feeling that, maybe, I could pull it off,” she said.

The film marks another bold transformation for Han, who has continuously expanded her range through projects like ‘The World of the Married’ and ‘Gyeongseong Creature.’ Project Y places her in yet another high-risk, adrenaline-charged storyline, requiring both vulnerability and raw intensity.

Director Lee Hwan: “She walked in without a line and she was Mi-seon.”

Director Lee Hwan expressed strong admiration for Han So-hee’s instinctive performance.
“During the first day of filming, she had a scene where she simply walked into frame without any dialogue. In that moment, she was already Mi-seon,” he recalled, praising her natural embodiment of the character.

A Crime Escape Story About Women With Nothing Left to Lose

Project Y centers on two women who have nothing but each other as they attempt to break free from their suffocating reality by stealing a stash of illicit cash. With its gritty premise, emotional depth, and star-powered performances, the film promises a tense and compelling cinematic experience.

‘Project Y’ opens nationwide on January 21, 2026.
