Actress Song Hye-kyo surprised fans with a dramatic new look, unveiling a bold short haircut in a newly released pictorial for Harper’s Bazaar Korea.

The fashion magazine revealed the photoshoot on December 16, showcasing Song Hye-kyo with a fresh, androgynous short hairstyle that contrasted beautifully with her soft, radiant aura. Set against a clean white backdrop, the pictorial carried the theme “A Flower Blooming in Concrete,” highlighting her timeless beauty and quiet strength.

Following the shoot, Song Hye-kyo spoke candidly in an interview about her latest transformation, which she embraced for her upcoming drama Slowly, Intensely, marking her reunion with renowned writer Noh Hee-kyung after several years. She shared a deep affection for her character Min-ja, describing her as a woman who prioritizes success over love and is willing to push through anything to rise from the bottom.

Song explained that the short haircut was not a spontaneous decision, but an essential part of fully understanding the character. She revealed that Noh Hee-kyung had suggested short hair for Min-ja, and although there was initial concern about such a drastic change, she personally felt no hesitation. For her, discovering a character’s style is a key part of completing the role — and if the look fits the character, fear has no place.

The actress also reflected on personal growth beyond her work. She shared that she has been writing a gratitude journal for five years, a habit that helped her learn how to love herself more deeply. While she acknowledged that difficult days still come, she said she now knows how to lift herself back up, making sure emotional lows never last long.

Song Hye-kyo’s pictorial and full interview will be featured in Harper’s Bazaar Korea’s January 2026 issue, offering readers a closer look at her transformation — both outward and inward.
