Singer Baekhyun has won a legal victory against a malicious commenter who spread false information and defamatory remarks about him, with the offender receiving a criminal fine. His agency has made it clear that this is only the beginning, stating that all remaining cases will be handled strictly.

On December 18, Baekhyun’s agency INB100 released an official statement updating fans on the status of ongoing legal action related to malicious posts and the circulation of false claims. “We would like to inform you of the progress regarding legal action against the spread of false information and malicious content targeting Baekhyun,” the agency said. “Some cases have already resulted in meaningful legal judgments.”

Fine Confirmed in Defamation Case

According to INB100, Baekhyun has filed multiple complaints against malicious commenters under various charges, including defamation under the Information and Communications Network Act, insult, and violations of the Act on Punishment of Stalking Crimes. One case, filed in April with the Seoul Gwangjin Police Station on charges including insult, has now resulted in a confirmed fine for the perpetrator. The ruling marks a clear legal acknowledgment of wrongdoing in relation to online harassment directed at the artist.

Investigations Still Ongoing

The agency also revealed that additional cases remain under active investigation. Complaints filed in May with the Seoul Gangnam Police Station and in September with the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency’s Cyber Investigation Unit including allegations related to stalking are currently being reviewed by authorities.

“While the complaint and investigation process may take time, we will continue to share updates promptly,” INB100 stated. The agency emphasized that internal monitoring of online platforms is conducted on a constant basis, adding, “We sincerely thank fans for their continued interest, reports, and cooperation.”

Zero-Tolerance Policy Reaffirmed

INB100 reiterated its firm stance against online abuse, making it clear that no compromises will be made. The agency has consistently emphasized that there will be no settlements or leniency when it comes to actions that harm Baekhyun’s reputation or mental well being. The case reflects a broader industry trend toward holding individuals legally accountable for malicious online behavior, rather than dismissing it as unavoidable.

Looking Ahead

Despite the legal matters, Baekhyun continues to focus on his activities and connection with fans. He is scheduled to hold his encore concert ‘Reverie dot’ from January 2 to 4, 2026, at KSPO Dome in Seoul, marking another major moment in his solo career. As legal proceedings continue, Baekhyun’s agency has made one message clear: protecting the artist’s rights is non-negotiable, and every remaining case will be pursued with the utmost seriousness.
