Actor Lee Junho has confirmed his next big-screen project, revealing that he will take on a full-fledged villain role in the upcoming film ‘Veteran 3’.
On December 17, Lee Junho appeared on comedian Lee Yong-jin’s YouTube show Yong Tarot ahead of the release of Netflix’s new series Cashero. During the episode, he confirmed that Veteran 3 is officially his next project and that filming is expected to begin next year.
“I’ve confirmed Veteran 3 as my next project,” Lee said. “The character is a villain.” He went on to explain that unlike some of his previous antagonistic roles, this time there will be no redemption arc. “In Good Manager, my character eventually turned over a new leaf,” he said. “But this time, he’s just a bad guy.”
When asked whether the character would ultimately face consequences, Lee responded cautiously, adding to anticipation for the film. “He should be thoroughly punished,” he said, hinting that how that process unfolds will be a key point of interest.
Lee Junho also shared that he is already reviewing scripts for projects beyond Veteran 3, noting that he expects to move straight into his next work once filming wraps.
The announcement comes as Lee continues an impressive streak of success. He recently led tvN’s weekend drama Typhoon Company (Taepung Trading), which surpassed 10% in peak ratings, marking another hit. This follows the success of ‘The Red Sleeve’ (2021) and ‘King the Land’ (2023), giving Lee three consecutive major hits and solidifying his status as a reliable box-office and ratings draw.
Meanwhile, Lee Junho is set to return to Netflix later this month with the release of ‘Cashero’ on December 26, further showcasing his momentum across both film and streaming platforms.
