Stray Kids has announced a strong legal response against malicious online activity, making it clear that even posts made on overseas platforms will not be exempt from action.
On December 27, JYP Entertainment released an official statement confirming that the company is pursuing legal measures to protect the rights of its artists. “We are taking legal action against the spread of false information, defamation, and other malicious acts,” the agency stated.
Extensive Monitoring at Home and Abroad
According to JYP Entertainment, a professional monitoring firm has been employed to closely track malicious posts and comments across both domestic and international online communities and social media platforms. Harmful content has been collected and documented in real time.
Based on this evidence, the agency has continuously filed criminal complaints against individuals involved in spreading false rumors, engaging in defamatory attacks, and making malicious or mocking remarks about Stray Kids. Investigations are currently underway.
Overseas Platforms Also Targeted
JYP emphasized that jurisdictional boundaries will not limit their response. “Investigative authorities have obtained warrants and identified suspects,” the company explained. “Through courts in Korea and abroad, we are also confirming the identities of perpetrators who posted malicious content on overseas platforms.” The agency further stressed its zero tolerance stance, stating, “We will continue to cooperate closely with investigative authorities and courts. There will be no leniency or settlements under any circumstances.”
Call for Fan Reports
JYP Entertainment also encouraged fans to actively report harmful content. “If you have evidence related to illegal activities targeting our artists, we ask for your cooperation,” the agency said, adding that it will continue to do everything possible to protect Stray Kids. The announcement underscores the group’s commitment to safeguarding its artists against online abuse and sends a clear message that malicious behavior regardless of platform or location will be met with firm legal consequences.
